I never do New Year Resolutions since I am ever so afraid of not fulfilling them. I’ve always been a good starter of stuff but a lousy finisher (yes, yes, I admit). I have a lot of “unfinished business” so I will surely remain in this world if ever I suddenly you-know-what.
But maybe this year, I will try. With the drastic changes going on around me, I really should make adjustments.
(Note: Ah, last year I vowed that I will be religious with my vitamins and food supplements! And I was! The result? Not much allergies and no major sickness. Yay!)
So.. here are my “I Hopes” (not “To Dos”)
On Family and Home
~Work is never more important than Family. Up to now, I regret not going to Sam’s graduation ball because “I can’t get off work” Work can disappear in a snap. Family will stick with you. So be more loyal to your family because your company will never be loyal to you. This year, I hope to have more time with my family and give them more support rather than them supporting my dreams. Now that Sam is closer, I can visit him whenever he wants me to.. and that now that my dad is contemplating retirement, I really, really hope I can help out.
~ Try hard(er) to have a baby , hehe. ~ Update 5-7-2010 YUP, we are officially pregnant. As of May 2010 I am about 18 weeks buntis! Update 7-25-2010 30 weeks buntis and it's going to be a boy!!! :-) Starting this week we go to the OB every 2 weeks, palapit na ng palapit and we are so excited.
~ Stop nagging and be a good, obedient, military wife. (Maybe not totally… ) 7-25-2010 , I am so preoccupied with my shifting jobs and the baby to nag. Kung uuwi, uuwi, kung hindi, edi wag! Whose loss? We love you Popi Sam.
~ Plan better menus and grocery shopping days. Expand cooking abilities. ~ Update 5-7-2010, ugh. I am so bad at this 7-25-2010 I'm getting worse. Especially now that I am already employed fulltime. I lost my grocery shopping days :-(
On Health
~ Food Supplements! Glutathione and Vitamin C. I have found my perfect combination for an allergy free existence. Iron and Folic Acid for pre-natal nutrition!
~ Eat well, minimize pork and beef. Jog or swim at least twice a week. (Sheesh) My motivation? Sam’s getting buffer than ever (yep, nagiging “hot” na sya! Hahaha!) and I am getting plumper. I do not want to look dumpy beside a nice-looking husband. Plus. I’d like to be able to swim 400 meters, unassisted – because they say you need that to get a SCUBA license. 7-25-2010 - Still so bad at the health department, huhu.
On Finances, Business and Investments
~ Live within our means. I actually think we’re pretty good at this, and I hope we continue to do so. We are the type of people that don’t mind “degrading” our lifestyle. Eating where our current wallet status takes us … we don’t mind movie dates in obscure malls or anniversaries spent eating fast food. Ah, what I learn from my husband.
~ Easy on the credit card. 2009 was a big year for expenses because of my hospitalization and moving into Boni Heights. So, in 2010 my VISA should take a break. 7-25-2010 My unemployment was really hard on my credit card. I couldn't pay it in full. But I vow to pay it off before using it again (Sam actually hid it from me)
~ Quality not Quantity (while living within our means, of course!) Save up for what I want and not settle for anything less, because I end up just buying more stuff that I don’t like until I get what I really like. Like right now I will be saving up for my Hush Puppies shoes rather than buy cheap ones that are uncomfortable and will only last for a week
~ Grow my business. I have proved that Human Nature can really be something big. And that network marketing is really promising. I hope to grow my business this year and really, really have financial freedom! I need to be masipag!
~ Grow our AFP bank account and be a grown-up and open a BDO checking account.
Others
~ Actively campaign for and support GILBERT TEODORO for the 2010 presidential race! ~ Update 5-7-2010 Woohoo! We're on a roll. Praying for the win - only 3 days to go before d-day. 7-25-2010 :-( GIBO lost , Noynoy won. Oh well, with all the controversies right now, I actually feel relieved that the Teodoro family is at peace.
~ Go green not only for GIBO, but for the environment. Always remember to bring my reusable bags when shopping and strive to keep on cutting my carbon footprint.
~ Blog religiously. Do reviews, do the ghost blogs and try to earn more PayPal cash!
~ Be more prayerful and thankful for all the blessings coming our way!
